Green Vineyard is a group of people from all walks of life who feel a connection to and responsibility for the earth. As a small group of the Vineyard Church of Ann Arbor, we share a common vision of raising awareness about ecological issues and taking practical steps to accomplish the goal of leaving the earth in better shape than we found it.
Q: I don’t know anything about environmentalism. Would I feel out of place connecting with Green Vineyard?
A. We don’t consider ourselves environmentalists; we simply love the earth and want to learn more about how we can respect and care for it better. We’re all learning together and anyone is welcome to come see what it’s all about.
Q. I don’t have time to come to regular meetings but I’m interested in connecting with Green Vineyard. Are there projects I can get involved in?
A. Definitely! We are always connecting with existing organizations in Ann Arbor and joining in on many “greening” projects around the city as well as beginning some within our church. Watch this website for more details.
Q. In addition to checking out Green Vineyard where can I find more information about caring for the earth as it relates to God?
A. Some of the resources that we have used to assist us in answering our tough questions include the books "Saving God's Green Earth: Rediscovering the Church's Responsibility to Environmental Stewardship" by Tri Robinson and "For the Beauty of the Earth: A Christian Vision for Creation Care" by Steven Bouma-Prediger. The Resources page also lists a number of helpful books and websites.
Green Vineyard meets every 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month from 1:00-2:30 pm in the cafe at Vineyard Church of Ann Arbor. The Church is located at 2275 Platt Rd, Ann Arbor, MI, 48104.
