Why Are You Green?: because God is. I represented Vineyard national at a retreat with E.O. Wilson and other top environmental scientists. It was a chance to learn about the state of the enviornment. At this retreat I became deeply convicted about the reality of the global environmental crisis and the need to face this crisis with the power of the gospel. I felt a keen sense of repentance on behalf of myself and the evangelical American church at large for drinking the kool-aid of a knee jerk suspicion of environmental concern propogated on am radio.
